Flea control
The flea is one of the commonest parasites in dogs and cats. It causes much distress to animal and owner alike. There is a profusion of products available to treat fleas but many are ineffective. For efficient control the correct product must be used, and used in the proper way.

As a client you will be able to obtain safe, convenient and effective flea treatments. Unfortunately some of the most effective products cannot legally be supplied for animals who are not our patients, so you should register your pet first.

Pet Travel Scheme
The law has changed to allow pets to be taken on holiday abroad without the need to go into quarantine on return.

Animals must be vaccinated against rabies and will need a "pet passport". We can make all the arrangements for you but it takes at least seven months to satisfy all the legal requirements so you need to speak to us well in advance of your journey.

Pet care products
We always carry a variety of useful items  including, shampoos, collars, leads, combs and brushes, vitamins, litter and litter trays, and many other products.

The boarding cattery at our Harborne site houses
"The Cat Shop" Here you will not only find a wider range of pet products but also gifts, jewellery and stationery, all with a feline theme - so why not pay a visit.

Worm treatments
Almost all puppies and many kittens are born with roundworms already growing in their bodies. Puppy worms can infect people, particularly children, so it is vital that all cats and dogs are wormed regularly to reduce the risks. You need effective products to protect you pet and your children. Such products are only available from a veterinary surgery.

If you suspect other types of worm infestation (e.g. tapeworm) it is best to bring the animal along with a sample of the worm so that the correct treatment can be given.

We always have a large variety of free magazines and leaflets available at our centres and you are welcome to help yourself.

Our
Practice Newsletter and the popular quarterly magazine "You and Your Vet" are free to all our clients. Just call in for your copies.

Preventative dentistry
Animals, just like us, have plaque on their teeth. Plaque traps bacteria and deposits leading to scale, gum disease and loss of teeth. We can help to preserve your pet's teeth through into old age.

Diets and foods
Diet plays an important role in the treatment of disease and we now frequently supply special foods as part of a course of treatment. With modern foods there is no need for animals to suffer from dietary deficiencies.

To ensure that suitable foods are available to our clients we stock high quality life-style diets which are carefully balanced for the needs of dogs and cats. The range is manufactured only by major, reputable companies and includes varieties for growing, adult, and older pets as well as packs for the active dog or the pet likely to put on weight. Our staff can give you free advice on feeding your pet.

Much ill health in rabbits is caused by incorrect feeding so you are strongly advised to seek our help.
