Dental treatments One of the most important, yet the most overlooked aspects of pet care, it is often not realised just how much discomfort is endured by apparently healthy pets from loose teeth and infected gums. Regular checks and treatment when necessary will help to keep the mouth healthy and comfortable. Some pets need frequent removal of plaque and scale from the teeth. This is done in the hospital with modern ultrasonic equipment and is followed by polishing to help reduce further build-up of plaque.

House calls, ambulance Most treatments are performed at the surgery. There we have all the medicines, equipment and support staff to give the most efficient service. Sometimes, however, circumstances may make it difficult to bring the animal to us. On these occasions we may be able to visit your pet at home. Please contact the receptionist if you wish to enquire about this.
Where transport is a problem our ambulance can bring you and your animal to the surgery and return you home afterwards.

Behaviour Problems Very few pets are perfect! Most animals exhibit some irritating features of behaviour. Many of these problems are minor and easy for an owner to deal with (or ignore!). But minor irritations frequently lead to serious or worrying behaviour traits. Problems such as biting, chewing objects, barking, soiling in the wrong places and fear of strangers are common. We can help to improve your dog's behaviour, so that both you and your pet will be happier living together. If you believe your pet has a behaviour problem give us a ring.

Euthanasia and cremation Despite all the care we lavish on our pets, eventually their lives must draw to a close. When necessary, and with your consent, we will prevent the suffering of incurable disease and infirmity with a peaceful permanent sleep induced in the surgery. Such a visit can be upsetting for both the sick pet and the owner, so our caring staff will tactfully assist both of you through this period of sadness. Afterwards, we can arrange for cremation to save further distress. We can also arrange return of ashes for scattering or burial if you require.
